Filming Continuation

Hello! Last Saturday, the 22nd of February my media group and I didn’t the second half of filming. We all met up at Avalon and Morgan’s house just before sunset so that it would be dark for when we filmed. Before we begin filming we all helped to cut out and hang up our “bloody” warning sign in the kitchen that our characters will find later.  The first scene that we did was the first shot after the establishing shot. I acted in the scene along with everyone else. Jake, who plays Thomas, spooked us and we all gasps and acted irritated. Next I acted and questioned where the character Amelia has gone and agreed to go in search for her. So I made sure to act out those sequences a few different times in order to ensure we got a good enough shot. Then I shot and directed the next scene where Morgan, who plays Hannah, walks in to the kitchen in search of Amelia so I did a tracking shot from the front. Then I cut it right before she turned around. Then started again from a different angle as she turned to see her reaction in finding the scary sign up on top of the wall. Then I filmed a shot of just the sign. Morgan and I filmed that scene a couple times as well and watched it over until we liked how it looked. Then I helped direct and filmed the argument shot of Thomas and Hannah as Hannah confronts Thomas of pranking  her with the sign. After that was done, we had Ava film the next part of my character, Bella, walking in from the hallway all irritated to stop Thomas and Hannah from arguing and urge them to help me search for Amelia. We completed that and then we only needed to film one more scene. The scene of Hannah and Thomas walking slowly behind Bella questioning if they should warm Bella of the sign and deciding not to. I filmed this scene as well. Then afterwards I took all of our footage and grouped it in a folder and checked to make sure we have all that we needed.

Movie Filming has started !

Hello ! My group and I have begun filming for our horror movie entitled “Signed the Watcher” . I went over to my group member Jake’s house after school on Friday to start filming. Not only was our group there but we also had our two friends Savanna and Katelyn, who also take AICE Media, was there to help us. We got our storyboards out and our props. Savanna was going to play the part of our murderer and needed to leave early so I decided we should do the scene of her walking down the hall with the knife first. So I crowtched down and had savanna in her busted murder shoes walked down slowly and her heavy dark jacket sleeve drop with the weapon in hand. I shot it a few different times to make sure it looked right and the weapon showed. I also directed and shot the next scene that we filmed. It was the scene where the murder goes to open the bathroom door where Amelia is and goes in to kill her. I filmed it and made sure in the shot that her head was no shown for the mystery effect. I also helped her direct on how to move the weapon in hand and suggestions for as she walks in and help remind Ava (Amelia) of her lines. The next scene I acted in. This was the scene where Bella walks down the hallway checking in the rooms searching for Amelia while Thomas and Hannah argue in the other room. I had Savanna film in three separate clips. One was me walking down the hall looking through the doors and the second me walking into Jake’s bedroom up to where his closet was, then we cut it. Then we filmed the next shot from a side angle from the bed of me looking down and around realizing Amelia is not in the room and walking out frustrated. I also acted in the next scene of me walking back to where Thomas and Hannah are arguing. We all checked over the footage we had so far and then continued filming. The next part we filmed was all our reactions to hearing Amelia’s scream from the bathroom. Thomas, Hannah, and Bella walk in to the shot and all jump and turn around when we hear the scream. We did this shot a few times as well. Then the final scene we needed to film this day was when we all find Amelia’s body dead in the bathroom tub. We all helped put the fake blood on Ava. Then we had Katelyn film the three of us walking in seeing the blood on the floor and reaching to pull the shower curtain. Then Katelyn went into the shower to shoot the front of us opening the curtain and screaming in horror as we see Amelia dead. During this shoot we also filmed Thomas finding a note and us reading it aloud. Then we were filmed walking out and my character noticed the bathroom window open and then as the camera woman walks in to show the body and window Jake, Morgan, and I shut the lights off and screamed.

Filming Day Plan

Hello! My AICE Media group and I have proceeded along our movie making process and are about to begin filming. We plan to film all of our footage this following Friday and Saturday evening. My partners and I have been discussing our plans for filming day to ensure we are successful. The first we talked about what was time would be best for all of us. One of our group memebers Jake has work on Saturday so we worked our timing around that, meaning we will film the shots at Ava and Morgan’s Friday after school and then on Saturday evening at Jake’s home. Our scenes are split between two houses, our living room and kitchen scenes will be filmed at Ava and Morgan’s house while the hallway and murder bathroom scene will be at Jake’s. Then we figured out the different props we needed to either buy or make. We plan to go to party city to buy fake blood to use and a fake knife. Then we plan to also go to a store like Walgreens or Target to pick up red poster paper to make the warning sign that will be on the kitchen wall. Obviously we can not put the fake blood all over the wall and make a huge mess so as a alternative we are making it out of paper and maybe putting fake blood on the paper and hanging it up. Once we all meet up we will also assemble all of the costume peices we need such as the big boots that the murder will be wearing. My group and I will then assemble all of our camera equipment and take out our story boards to help guide us. We will have our actors in the shot and anyone who isn’t acting in the moment will help direct and make sure the recording runs smoothly. And also while filming make sure that where the titles are supposed to go will fit and look well once we begin to edit. We will make sure to shoot every scene at least 3 times in order to make sure we got what we needed. But of course we will watch each of them back to make sure they’re adequate. We also plan to adjust the lighting if needed, if we need it to be a bit darker than it actually is such as dimming the lights or pulling down the blinds. And we realize that if that isn’t enough we can just edit it later. My group will take our time filming this movie and not rush it and to be patient to make sure we get the best possible product out of this because it is very important that it comes out good. And we all plan to work cooperatively and all put effort into this filming project and work as a group.

Movie Storyboard

Hello! This is my group and I’s story board for our movie project in which we titled “Signed The Watcher”. Storyboard for such a big project like this is extremely important and useful. Drawing out and planing how we want every few seconds to look is the perfect guide for our actual filming day. Each box represents around 2-3 seconds and each paper is a scene. We included practically every movement start to finish. We also below it put in details of either what was going on or any dialogue to be more clear and precise. Along with that we stated which camera angle and shot we are using. One of the first of course is a establishing shot of outside the house we are filming in so that the audience understands what the setting is. Through the film peace we incorporated many different angles high and low and shots like wide shot reaction shots and many more. We made sure to make each box as detailed as possible to really bring our vision for the film out.

Movie Title Design

Hello, we finally chose a name for our movie! My group and I came up with: “‘Signed, The Watcher’”. This Google slide shows how the opening credits of the film will be displayed in our project. We chose two fonts for the titles. The first font is called “Permanent Marker”. We chose this font because it had a rough and mysterious look to it that matched the aesthetic that we were going for. We chose to space this font out to make it more dramatic. With this font, we also decided to make it a dark crimson red color to add a more negative connotation to it and to add a more symbolic approach because the color that we chose as a strong association to the color of blood. The second font that we chose is called “Shadows into the Light”. We chose this font because it is closely related to our first font. This font also adds to our creepy horror aesthetic. We decided not to space this font out be we will be putting it in all caps to have it create a greater Impact on the audience. We will be keeping this font color white so that it will be able to contrast into our dark scenery. The titles that we want to prioritize are the film title, actors, and the director slide. The decisions that we made are not final because we may come up with better ideas along the road.

Planning for movie : Locations, Participants, Schedule, and Safety

Hello! Within this google slide my group and I have come up with some more planning for our big movie project. The first thing we needed to decide on was our locations. We decided that we will be filming at Avalon/ Morgan's house and Jake's house and picked which scenes will be filmed where. Next, we listed out our participants. The whole group will be acting and on camera crew while Jake will be the director, Alex will be the editor, and Avalon will be on makeup. Our next step in planning was creating our schedule. We collectively decided which days we wanted to do what and are going to try our best to stick to that plan. And last but not least we made sure to include and plan out the safety aspects of our movie making. We will all make sure to remain safe during this process. We are all excited to continue on with this project and create our movie.

Sound Script

Hello! This is our google slides for our sound script. We wrote out the sounds needed to accommodate the actions which were written in the previous shooting script. The sound script includes all the sounds and dialogue in our film. The first scene starts off with eerie music and a sound bridge between the first two shots, accommodated by dialogue between the friend group. Scene two has dialogue between the friends concerning the missing member of the group. Scene three has one member of the group looking for the missing member, then being startled by a "prank" that was done by one of the group members. Throughout this scene there is dialogue concerning the "prank".Scene four is a heated conversation between the two members. Scene five doesn't have any dialogue, it only has diegetic sounds. Scene six has a lot of dialogue and some diegetic sounds. Scene seven has some non diegetic sounds and dialogue. Scene eight has some sound effects and dialogue between characters. Scene nine throughout the scene suspenseful music plays while the character have dialogue. scene ten has dialogue and diegetic/non diegetic sounds.

Shooting script

Hello! This is a google slide of my group and I's movie shooting script. In here we have each scene written out play by play including the camera shots and angles we will be using. The first scene is where we will be establishing the setting and characters. Scene two shows a different P.O.V. shot to show that they are being watched which inflicts a sense of fear and mystery. Scene three is the beginning of the conflict and apart of the rising action of the characters starting to realize they're in danger. Scene four is just the back and forth conversations of the friends. Scene 5 cuts to the other friend in search for the missing friend and her over hearing the friends in the kitchen argue. Then scene 6 is about the friend in search of the victim girl going back to her friends explaining they need to stop arguing and just look for their friend. Scene 7 shows more detail about the murderer and their approach to the victim and their encounter before she is killed. Scene 8 is where all of the friends hear a scream and run to the scene of the murder and realize what happened and are all super terrified. Scene 9 is where a note from the murderer is found and read aloud. The final scene is the friends all together right outside of where the girl was murdered where they notice the open window and then the power shuts off and its ended with a big scream. That is our plan for our two minute movie with our shots and angles, however we have not picked a title yet.
